What is the Brixton Coalition?
Back the Brixton Coalition
The Brixton Coalition is a community-led umbrella uniting every part of Brixton under one voice. Built in Brixton, for Brixton, we stand for ownership, transparency, and action that keeps our neighbourhood strong, independent, and connected. From mutual aid and cultural protection to skills-sharing and economic self-reliance, the Coalition exists to protect Brixton’s legacy while building a resilient future powered by its people.
What We Offer?
We’re more than a network — we’re a foundation for Brixton’s future.
Community Ownership – Decisions are made together, openly, and fairly, so every voice has weight in shaping Brixton’s direction.
Mutual Aid & Dignity – No neighbour left behind: food, housing, health and everyday essentials provided with care and respect.
Skills & Knowledge Sharing – From CV workshops to digital tools and intergenerational mentoring, we build skills that last and strengthen careers.
Self-Reliance & Growth – Supporting small businesses, exploring co-operatives, and keeping Brixton’s money in Brixton.
Cultural Protection – Celebrating and defending Brixton’s unique identity as a powerhouse of Black British culture and multicultural creativity.
#vOTE4RUBY
The Brixton Coalition is backing Ruby Bukhari to run as an independent councillor — a voice for Brixton, not party politics.
Community in Action
Housing Survey
We’re running a housing survey with Brixton’s Latin community to understand the real challenges families face. Your input will guide future campaigns for fair housing and stronger protections.
Volunteering
Our community advice bureau runs twice a month, with Spanish translators available. We offer support on housing, immigration, benefits, and local services — ensuring language is never a barrier.
Advice Centre
Join the Coalition’s volunteer network and help keep Brixton strong. From event support to mutual aid deliveries, your time and skills make a real difference for neighbours across the community.
